THE STUDENT JUDICIAL COUNCIL
The Student Judicial Council (SJC) holds judicial power within BSAU, tasked with resolving complaints on rule violations, USC regulations, and student misconduct, as well as addressing grave abuse of discretion by USC bodies. It prioritizes rehabilitation over punishment, aiming to restore peace and support student growth.
The SJC is composed of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC-Supreme)—six Student Judges led by a Chief Judge, handling appeals and significant cases—and the Local Judicial Councils (SJC-Local), composed of three judges per campus or institute, managing routine disciplinary cases. Judges serve for the duration of their student tenure. Appointments are made by the USC President from a shortlist screened by the Judicial Board (Senate President, an Executive representative, and campus governors). The SJC-Supreme also has authority to remove SJC-Local members through administrative proceedings.
